Meet Jodie Mears

My Story... well part of it

I didn’t grow up thinking I’d work in digital,  or that one day I’d be mentoring and speaking to professionals around the world.

My first job was at age seven in my dad’s fruit and veg shop, carefully turning every Jaffa orange leaf-end up so customers wouldn’t pass them by. Back in the 1980s, going to work with your dad and serving customers all day wasn’t unusual, and I loved every minute of it. That’s where my eye for detail, service, and connection began… and my first quiet lesson in visibility, value, and influence.

Fast forward a few decades, and I’m now a C-Suite Executive Assistant, mentor, and speaker, but those lessons from the shop floor have never left me. They shaped how I see the world, how I lead, and how I help others see the impact of their work.

In 2025, I was named one of the Top 60 Digital Women to Watch and a finalist for Digital Woman of the Year.

I didn’t win, but being recognised alongside founders, marketers, and business leaders felt like the real achievement. Because here I was, a lifelong Executive Assistant, standing shoulder to shoulder with digital trailblazers,  and I belonged there.

I love being an EA. I’ve chosen to stay one, and have grown into it. Yes, I speak on global stages. Yes, I’ve built a mentoring and coaching programme -Aspire & Achieve that continues to grow every year. But I’m still in the role, still making things happen, and still proving that leadership doesn’t always sit in the spotlight or have a fancy title.

I’m a wife, a mum of three, and someone who believes that quiet consistency can move mountains. Because if my journey has taught me anything, it’s this: you don’t have to change who you are to achieve more, you just have to make your value visible.
